German Defense Minister Pistorius secretly married: his wife is 20 years younger
63-year-old German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius secretly married a woman 20 years younger than him. Bild writes about this.
Pistorius began dating 43-year-old Julia Schwanholz early last year. They often attended social events together. Schwanholz is a political scientist at the University of Duisburg-Essen.
The minister married his beloved shortly before the New Year. The Ministry of Defense confirmed this information to journalists.
BILD columnist Florian Kain recalled that Pistorius is now the most popular politician in Germany, he is much more popular than Chancellor Olaf Scholz. At the same time, he is doing the right thing, “without being overzealous with showing off,” the expert emphasized.
“He could have easily celebrated his wedding and new love with the media involved. But Pistorius kept it to himself for several weeks. This shows that he has good instincts,” says Cain.
Pistorius’s first wife died of cancer in 2015, aged 54. From 2016 to 2022, he was in a relationship with the ex-wife of former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, Doris Schröder-Köpf.
