According to the publication Handelsblatt, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, in an interview with journalists, did not give forecasts regarding the timing of the end of the armed conflict in Ukraine, but noted that it would last “longer than we would like.”
At the same time, the chancellor stressed that Germany would continue to provide political, financial and military assistance to Ukraine.
“We should tune in to the fact that the conflict will be longer, even if we would like a quick end,” Scholz said.
