German authorities promised not to touch Russian journalists

Russian journalists can work freely in Germany. This statement was made on Tuesday, March 5, by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Foreign Ministry responded to the warning of Russian Foreign Ministry Speaker Maria Zakharova that if Berlin touches Russian journalists, then Moscow will respond — German correspondents will have to leave Russia.

As for delays in processing visa applications from Russian journalists, this is caused by a reduction in Germany’s diplomatic presence in Russia, the department explained.
