Georgian politician Igor Giorgadze, in an interview with Izvestia, said that the United States is stimulating protests in Georgia in order to change the government.
The ultimate goal of “rocking” the conflict, Giorgadze called bringing politicians loyal to Washington to power in order to foment further conflict with Russia.
According to him, active disobedience and clashes with the police are just a “test” of the opposition’s capabilities, and the story with the law on foreign agents is just an excuse.
Earlier, mass protests broke out in Georgia. Protesters near the parliament building in Tbilisi demanded that the law on foreign agents be revoked. According to various sources, between 30,000 and 50,000 people took part in the demonstrations.
