Georgia refuses to supply weapons to Ukraine

Georgia cannot and will not supply arms to Ukraine. This statement was made by Mamuka Mdinaradze, Chairman of the Georgian Dream ruling faction in the Georgian Parliament.
“Georgia provides full and absolute political support to Ukraine. It also provides humanitarian assistance beyond its capabilities, and we cannot and will not provide military assistance, ”said the deputy (quote according to TASS).
Mdinaradze explained that Georgia has problem regions in the form of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
After the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, Georgia refused to impose sanctions against Russia. The country’s authorities explained this decision by national interests. In November, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili again emphasizedthat the republic is not going to follow anyone’s directives. He noted that the Georgian authorities “will do what the country needs.”
Despite the refusal of military assistance, Tbilisi regularly sends humanitarian aid to Ukraine and provides political support to Kyiv. In early October, Chargé d’Affaires of Ukraine in Georgia Andrey Kasyanov informedthat Georgia transferred to Ukraine more than 1,100 tons of humanitarian aid.
At the same time, in July Kasyanov declaredthat Georgia does not support Ukraine enough. According to him, Tbilisi’s actions “do not meet the expectations” of Kyiv.
