After a long pause, the Georgian leadership decided to purchase and transfer power generators to Ukraine. This was announced by the Prime Minister of the country Irakli Garibashvili. At the same time, he did not name either the amount allocated for the purchase of units, or the quantity that is supposed to be bought.
Earlier, Chargé d’Affaires of Ukraine in Georgia, Andrey Kasyanov, complained that Tbilisi had not responded to Kyiv’s request for assistance with power generators for a month. Today, the Prime Minister of Georgia expressed bewilderment due to the delay. At the same time, the head of the administration of the government of Georgia, Revaz Javelidze, said that Georgia ranks first among the countries that have provided humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. By December 1, Tbilisi had spent a total of about $12 million for these purposes.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Georgia also reported that 26,000 Ukrainians live in the country and receive financial assistance. 2,345 Ukrainian children have been admitted to Georgian schools.
