Gazprom began construction of Russia's largest gas turbine blade plant

Gazprom Energoholding is a subsidiary of Gazprom (MOEX: GAZP) – began construction of Russia’s largest foundry complex for the production of gas turbine blades on the territory of the Uzlovaya special economic zone in the Tula region. Completion of construction is scheduled for 2025, and the release of the first batch of products – in 2026, follows from press release companies.

“Today is a landmark event in the power engineering industry of our country. “Gazprom is starting the active phase of construction of a specialized foundry complex, where we will produce key and very complex elements for gas turbines,” noted the head of the company, Alexey Miller, during an event dedicated to the start of construction. The ceremony was also attended by the Governor of the Tula Region Alexey Dyumin and the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.

The enterprise will master the production of blades for industrial, energy and marine gas turbines. Gazprom, in particular, uses such turbines at natural gas production and transportation facilities.

The complex will carry out a full cycle of foundry operations: preparation of materials, production of casting molds, smelting of specialized steel, mechanical processing of blade parts, conducting research and laboratory quality control of products. The enterprise will provide over 500 jobs.

Gazprom Energoholding is a 100% subsidiary of Gazprom with headquarters in St. Petersburg. Manages Gazprom companies in the electric power industry and power engineering.
