Gaza administration criticizes humanitarian aid drop that kills 5 people

The authorities in the Gaza Strip criticized the humanitarian aid dumped on people’s heads, which killed five people, RIA Novosti reports.

Earlier, Al Hadath reported that the drop of humanitarian aid by the US Air Force and Jordan in the northern part of the Gaza Strip led to casualties. Videos posted on social media show that some boxes of humanitarian aid could not be safely dropped from planes because parachutes became tangled and the boxes crashed into residential areas. At the same time, the American and Jordanian military denied “emergency situations” during such “delivery” of humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip. As reported, more than 11.5 thousand sets of food items were dropped by parachute onto the enclave.

In a statement, the Gaza authorities said that the so-called “humanitarian aid” is ostentatious and propaganda in nature, and from a humanitarian and practical point of view makes no sense. The Gaza administration also noted that it had warned about the dangers of such “help.”

In Gaza, over two million people suffer from severe shortages of food, water, medicine and shelter, the statement said. The enclave administration called for putting pressure on Israel, as well as organizing the delivery of aid through land crossings.
