The governor of the Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko, approved amendments to the region’s charter, according to which the city of Gatchina becomes the capital of the Leningrad region.
“The law was published today and entered into force,” the press service of the regional government said.
The corresponding law was adopted by the regional parliament on March 29 in three readings at once. 40 deputies voted in favor, two – against, one abstained.
