The work on creating a new prequel to the Game of Thrones series (Game of Thrones, 2011-2019) has been suspended due to the Writers Guild of America strike. This was announced on Monday on his website by American writer George R. R. Martin.
It was also previously reported that work on the fifth and final season of Stranger Things had to be postponed. This situation has developed because of the strike of the Guild of Screenwriters.
In the US, on May 2, for the first time in 15 years, a strike of screenwriters began. The decision came after the writers’ unsuccessful talks with Netflix, Amazon, The Walt Disney, Paramount and Apple TV about new contracts and pay increases.
