Katrin Nenasheva was detained in the city of Priozersk, Leningrad Region. This was reported by the artist herself on Facebook (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned). According to her, she was detained on the received orientation.
“They detained me near St. Petersburg in the city of Priozersk, they say, I received an orientation. They followed me straight to the cafe. They are being taken to the wanted list, ”the message on the artist’s page says.
In March 2022, Katrin Nenasheva created the I Stay project for those who cannot or do not want to leave Russia. “We held clandestine anti-war concerts in a closed format, discussions and evenings of letters to political prisoners,” she told Bumaga.
In July, Katrin Nenasheva, who coordinated the Teenagers and Cats project at Open Space in Moscow, was taken to the police station to testify. As Spektr wrote, she was released with an obligation to appear in order to draw up a protocol on LBGT propaganda among minors. The Teens and Cats project was aimed at supporting children who have experienced addiction, bullying, violence and mental health problems.
In September 2018, Katrin Nenasheva held several actions against torture. During one of them, the artist was detained, and a protocol on an administrative offense was drawn up against her. After that, the gallery on Solyanka canceled her exhibition “Cargo 300. Collages of experiences”, which was dedicated to torture.
