Gallup: the positive attitude of Americans towards the Russian Federation has fallen to a minimum

Over the past year, the negative attitude of Americans towards Russia has worsened. The number of citizens supporting her actions decreased from 15 to 9%, informed American Institute of Public Opinion Gallup.
This value is the lowest since 1989, when Americans were first asked about their attitude towards the Soviet Union. Previously, ratings below 10% were received by Iran, Iraq and North Korea. The worst figure was recorded in 1991 during the Gulf War against Iraq (3%).
A Gallup World Affairs poll showed that 90% (+42%) of Americans have a negative attitude towards Russia. An extremely “unfavorable” opinion was expressed by 59% of respondents. Until 2020, no more than 32% of respondents had an extremely negative attitude towards Moscow.
At the end of the Cold War, in the 1990s, the Americans viewed the Soviet Union favorably. Their opinion worsened about 10 years after Moscow opposed NATO intervention in Kosovo and Serbia.
The maximum favorable attitude (66%) was recorded in February 2002. Prior to 2012, Americans generally had a positive (above 50%) assessment of Russia.
The positive rating fell to 24% in 2015 after the annexation of Crimea to Russia, and to 15% in 2022 before the announcement of the NWO in Ukraine.
It also became known that 56% of respondents consider Moscow a serious threat to vital US interests.
