Showman Maxim Galkin, who was included in the register of foreign agents in the Russian Federation, lost two October concerts in Kazakhstan. In the first ten days of the month, the artist had planned performances in Astana and Almaty, but a week before the events, both concert venues announced their closure.
On Saturday, September 30, the Astana concert hall “Kazakhstan” announced that from the 4th to the 10th “technical work will be carried out on the water supply networks,” and therefore all events are cancelled. On Sunday, the Almaty Palace of the Republic announced that “concert activities <...> was urgently suspended due to the emergency state of the stage mechanics “and that “a two-week period is required to eliminate the violations.”
Galkin earlier claimed, that in Kazakhstan “there is actually an unspoken ban at the state level” on his performances, which his team could not agree on for several months. Today, after statements from concert venues, he addressed the organizers.
“Can I help the halls with renovations? Maybe we’ll have time? I really want to see the audience,” said the artist.
He noted that tickets for his performances are sold out, so he is waiting for proposals from venues to reschedule concert dates, and also asks in advance to “check the sewer system for these dates.”
