FT: Israel’s war with Hamas will change the position of developing countries on Ukraine

Western support for Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip rather than Palestine has undermined Western efforts to win developing countries over to its side over the conflict in Ukraine. The Financial Times wrote about this on Wednesday, October 18, citing informed sources.
According to one G7 diplomat, the West has lost the “battle in the Global South” and all the work done on Ukraine “has been lost.”
The FT’s interlocutor expressed the opinion that developing countries, in light of events in the Middle East, “will never listen to us again.”
Earlier, British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps, during his visit to Washington, said that the United States should not allow a war between Israel and Hamas distract attention from the situation in Ukraineotherwise disaster may break out.
