FT: G7 summit may be remembered as high point of Western support for Ukraine

The Financial Times article notes that the G7 summit held in Japan may turn out to be the peak of Western support for Ukraine. Author of the article Gideon Rahman notes that Ukraine and its President Volodymyr Zelensky may face increasing pressure after this summit.
Rahman warns that it may be difficult for the West to continue to provide assistance to Kyiv, especially if the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian armed forces (UAF) fails. In addition, it is already being said in the United States and Europe that arms deliveries have significantly depleted ammunition stocks.
The Western politician cited in the article notes that “Ukrainians consume in hours what we produce in weeks.” This points to serious limitations in the logistical support that the West can provide to Ukraine.
The author also notes that the growing pressure on Ukraine is related to the upcoming US presidential election in 2024. If Donald Trump returns to the White House, this could lead to increased arguments against support for Kyiv. Such changes in the political atmosphere in the US could also affect Europe.
As a result, according to Rahman, the level of political, financial and logistical support for Ukraine from the West may decrease significantly in the near future.
