FSB prevented attempt on the head of the police department in Zaporozhye

In the Zaporozhye region, an attempt on the head of the police department of the urban-type settlement (urban-type settlement) Kirillovka was prevented. It is reported by the Federal Security Service of Russia in the region, transmits TASS.
“The first victim of the attacker was to be the head of the police department in the village of Kirillovka Yu.A. Balabin,” the department specified.
During the arrest, the attacker showed armed resistance. As a result, the FSB special forces managed to disarm him. The detainee turned out to be a 31-year-old citizen of Ukraine. He arrived in the Zaporozhye region at the direction of Ukrainian intelligence to carry out sabotage and terrorist activities, the FSB added.
During a search of the suspect’s home, components of an improvised explosive device were found. A criminal case was initiated against the attacker under Part 1 of Art. 30 and part 2 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (preparation to commit a terrorist act).
Last week, on May 5, FSB officers prevented terrorist attack against one of the leaders of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. Preparations for it were carried out with the participation of Ukrainian intelligence agents, the ministry said. The sabotage group included four people, two were arrested. A criminal case was initiated against them on the fact of preparing for a terrorist attack (part 3 of article 30 and paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
