“The terrorists bided their time”
A group of terrorists attacked spectators in Crocus City Hall. In one of the videos you can see four terrorists in camouflage and with weapons. According to retired FSB Major General Alexander Mikhailov, terrorists, one way or another connected with Ukrainian radical groups, were clearly operating in the concert hall.
“I think that this is a Ukrainian trace; by definition, there simply cannot be another,” he says. – If only because they previously constantly talked about transferring terrorist activities to Russian territory. In addition, we understand that this is a very demonstrative action. This is not the murder of some opinion leader. This is a massive attack. So I think this is, of course, a terrorist attack.
The expert also recalled that mass events are always an object of attraction for terrorists.
– We remember Beslan, Nord-Ost, Budyonnovsk – in all these cases the terrorist attack patterns are approximately the same. This is a surprise attack and causes maximum damage to people. In this case, I believe the terrorists waited until the presidential campaign ended. They understood perfectly well that during the election period there would be a significant strengthening of law enforcement agencies and special services, and they waited for the operational tension to subside.
