FSB detained a resident of the Luhansk People's Republic for espionage

In the Lugansk People’s Republic, a citizen of Ukraine who lived in the region, who collaborated with foreign intelligence services, was detained. About it informs TASS with reference to the press service of the FSB of Russia for the LPR.

According to the investigation, since October 2022, the man has been collecting data on the locations of military personnel and military equipment of the People’s Militia of the LPR and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and then transferring them to foreign special services. A criminal case under Art. 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (espionage), he faces up to 20 years in prison.

In addition, FSB officers stopped an attempt to spy on behalf of the Ukrainian special services in the Pskov region, transmits TASS with reference to the press service of the department’s regional department. According to the FSB, a native of Dnipropetrovsk was tasked by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to collect information about the military personnel of the border authorities, as well as about Ukrainians cooperating with law enforcement agencies.

A citizen of Ukraine was detained at the entrance to the Pskov region. He was given an official warning about the inadmissibility of illegal actions and was denied entry to Russia until 2053.

Earlier today, August 17, the Federal Security Service for the Khabarovsk Territory reported about the detention of the commander of the territorial defense unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who is suspected of espionage. According to the department, he collected data on the locations of military equipment and personnel of the Russian army on the instructions of the SBU.

Also FSB stopped undermining communication stations “Rostelecom” and “Transtelecom” in the closed city of Zelenogorsk in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The department explained that in this way the two men wanted to prevent the mailing of summons for conscription for military service through the State Services. The perpetrators were arrested and placed in jail. Cases were initiated against them under Part 3 of Art. 30, paragraph “a”, part 3 of Art. 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted illegal acquisition of explosives or explosive devices) and Part 1 of Art. 30, paragraph “a” part 2 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted to commit a terrorist act).
