FSB detained a resident of Khakassia who tried to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The FSB of Russia detained a resident of Abakan at the Krasnoyarsk airport, who tried to join the armed forces of Ukraine (APU). About it informs TASS with reference to the press service of the FSB.

“A resident of Abakan in the Republic of Khakassia, suspected of attempted treason, has been detained,” the report says.

The FSB reported that the detainee, on his own initiative, wanted to join the ranks of the Ukrainian troops in order to participate in hostilities on the side of the enemy. He was arrested while trying to leave for Ukraine through one of the CIS countries, the department specified.

The FSB opened a case under Part 3 of Art. 30, art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted treason). In July 2022, this article was supplemented with a clause on punishment for going over to the side of the enemy. The detainee faces 12 to 20 years in prison.

It is noted that earlier a resident of Khakassia was held liable under Part 2 of Art. 214 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for vandalism against buildings of the regional authorities.

December 8 FSB RF informed about the detention of two residents of Sevastopol, who are suspected of spying for the SBU. They brought criminal cases under Art. 275 (Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (treason). The detainees also face up to 20 years in prison. According to the FSB, one of the residents of Sevastopol has worked for the Ukrainian side since 2016, after the start of the special operation, he transmitted data on the location of objects of the Russian Defense Ministry for money.
