FSB announced the prevention of sabotage at the power system facility in Kerch

In Kerch, sabotage by Ukrainian special services at the facility of the Crimean energy system was prevented. About it informs TASS with reference to the press service of the FSB of the Russian Federation.

As a result, the security forces detained a citizen of Russia and Ukraine, born in 1971, involved in the preparation of sabotage. An improvised explosive device and means of communication with correspondence with a representative of the Ukrainian special services, who coordinated his actions, were seized in his house.

In the published video of the FSB detention shows a phone found during the searches with a video in which the suspect is allegedly filming a power grid facility. Behind the scenes, he says in Ukrainian that he does not see surveillance cameras at the facility.

Criminal cases were initiated against the man under Part 1 of Art. 30, part 1, art. 281 (preparation for sabotage) and part 1 of Art. 222.1 (illegal acquisition, sale, storage of explosives or explosive devices) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The suspect was taken into custody.

The maximum punishment under the first article is up to 15 years in prison, under the second – up to eight years in prison with a fine of up to 100,000 rubles. The day before, on April 18, the State Duma adopted amendments, according to which the term under Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation is increased to 20 years in prison.

At the end of February, the FSB delayed under the article on treason of two residents of Sevastopol, who themselves offered the Ukrainian special services to buy from them data on the objects of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. One of the detainees transmitted data on the location of military facilities by e-mail, and the second confirmed his intentions, but did not have time to send anything, the press service of the department reported.
