The FSB prevented a terrorist attack at a chemical plant in the Kaluga region. About it informs “RIA Novosti” with reference to the press service of the department.
Two people from the Central Asian republics planned to blow up tanks with fuel and lubricants. During the arrest, they resisted, after which the security forces liquidated them with return fire. It is specified that there are no casualties among law enforcement officers and the civilian population.
According to the FSB, the defendants were members of the Islamic State (IS, a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation). After the attack, they planned to leave for Syria. A criminal case was opened against the attackers under Part 1 of Art. 30 and part 2 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (preparation for a terrorist act).
The press service of the department said that a laboratory for the manufacture of explosives was found in the house of the attackers, a ready-made improvised explosive device, an incendiary mixture, firearms and ammunition were also found there.

A criminal case was initiated against him under Art. 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Sabotage”), according to which he faces up to 15 years in prison.
On the same day, the department reported about the detention of a member of the Azov battalion (recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation) in Rostov-on-Don. He allegedly came to Russia disguised as a refugee.
