FSB announced the detention of the commander of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson region for espionage

In the Kherson region, a citizen of Ukraine was detained for espionage. This was reported by the press service of the FSB in the Khabarovsk Territory, transmits “RIA News”.
The FSB of Russia for the Eastern Military District identified and stopped the activities of the intruder. Then the counterintelligence officers working in the special operation zone went out in the Kherson region to a citizen of Ukraine, who was suspected of espionage, follows from the message of the department.
The 54-year-old commander of the territorial defense unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was detained. According to the FSB, he collected data on the locations of military equipment and personnel of the Russian army on the instructions of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
A criminal case was initiated against the man under Art. 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (espionage). The maximum penalty under the article is up to 20 years in prison.
August 4 FSB reported on the suppression of the activities of two Ukrainians in the Kherson region, who also transmitted to Ukraine data on the deployment of the Russian military. They are accused under Part 2 of Art. 35 art. 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (espionage by a group of persons). According to investigators, the citizens of Ukraine acted on instructions from representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On July 31, a criminal case on espionage in favor of Ukraine was initiated against a resident of the DPR. According to the FSB, the defendant collected and transmitted information about military personnel and law enforcement officers on the instructions of the SBU. Four more residents of the DPR were issued a warning about the inadmissibility of illegal actions.
