FSB officers detained a Polish citizen with diplomatic status while receiving a bribe of 20,000 euros for forging documents for the transport of contraband consignments of alcohol, the press service of the department reported. transmit “RIA News”.
“The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, upon receiving a bribe in the amount of 20,000 euros for the preparation of fictitious shipping documentation for exemption from customs duties when importing commercial batches of alcohol, detained an employee of an international financial organization with diplomatic status, a citizen of the Republic of Poland, Malgorzata Ewa, – said in the message.
It is specified that she was declared persona non grata, she was offered to leave Russia within a week.
In addition, three Russian citizens were also detained, who were involved in organizing channels for the illegal import of alcoholic products into the country, a contraband consignment of alcohol with a volume of more than 40 tons and a value of over $2 million was seized.
A criminal case was initiated against the detainees on the fact of smuggling of alcoholic products (part 2 of article 200.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and possession and sale of unmarked alcohol (part 6 of article 171.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The maximum punishment under these articles is 7 and 6 years, respectively.
