FSB announced the detention of a Muscovite on suspicion of financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine

A resident of Moscow was detained while trying to leave the country on suspicion of high treason, the court sent her under arrest for two months, informs TASS with reference to the Center for Public Relations of the FSB of Russia.

The FSB officers detained a Muscovite in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the woman, as specified, is suspected of providing financial assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

“The unlawful activity of a resident of Moscow, involved in committing high treason in the form of financial assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in activities directed against the security of the Russian Federation, has been suppressed, a crime under article 275 of the Criminal Code of Russia,” the CSO said, adding that the Lefortovo Court of Moscow sent the woman under arrest for two months.

Investigators are carrying out operational-search activities aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the criminal case, including the detention of accomplices, the CSO also reported.

At the end of February, FSB officers detained two residents of Sevastopol, who offered the Ukrainian special services to buy from them data on the objects of the Russian Ministry of Defense. According to the DSP, one of the detainees transmitted data on the location of military facilities by e-mail, and the second confirmed his intentions, but did not have time to send anything. Criminal cases were initiated against the detainees on the fact of treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and the establishment of cooperation on a confidential basis with a foreign state (Article 275.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The maximum punishment under the article on treason is imprisonment for up to 20 years.
