French senators write letter to Macron about failure in Africa
The military, political and cultural cooperation of France with Africa proved to be a failure. This conclusion was reached by 92 French senators who sent an open letter to President Emmanuel Macron.
The text of the message was published by the newspaper Le Figaro. It states that Niger, Mali, Central African Republic, Burkina Faso rejected France, its troops and companies. After the failure of the military operation “Barkhan”, the Wagner group came to Arfika, which opposes the old colonial power.
Senators noted that anti-French demonstrations and actions are spreading throughout Africa. Discontent is growing even in countries such as Côte d’Ivoire or Senegal, which have always been close to France. Disturbances are also seen in the north – in Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia.
Senators called on French leader Emmanuel Macron to rethink his vision of Africa. According to them, countries increasingly do not understand France, dispute its presence and role.
