François Asselino: Western media would not be silent about the explosion of chemicals in Russia

If the chemical explosion had taken place not in American Ohio, but in Russia or China, then the US media would have already scolded the representatives of these countries for their “negligence”. This statement was made in the social network by the leader of the French party “People’s Republican Union”, political commentator Francois Asselino.

He noted that since the incident happened in the United States, the media are hushing it up.

Asselino called the incident “Chernobyl in Ohio”. Since the explosion of chemicals was followed by a “huge environmental disaster”, the French politician believes that its consequences will affect the entire northern hemisphere.

On February 4, near the town of East Palestine in the United States, a train containing chemical tanks derailed. They capsized and exploded. One and a half thousand local residents had to be evacuated. Later, environmental activists reported the death of fish and domestic animals in the disaster area. They have concerns that toxic chemicals may spread in water and air.

On Thursday, Sergei Ivanov, special envoy of the President of the Russian Federation for environmental protection, ecology and transport, said that Washington pays a lot of attention to balloons, but hushed up the environmental emergency in Ohio.

On Friday, Senator Pushkov commented on the situation. He considers the reaction of the US authorities to the environmental emergency not surprising, since they have one system of rules and assessments for themselves, and a completely different one for the rest. The main of these “rules”, as Pushkov noted, is the lack of rules for Washington.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the state of emergency in Ohio has become the largest man-made disaster of recent times, but now everything is being used to get the White House out of the information strike on this topic.
