France adopts scandalous pension reform

The pension reform, which became the reason for numerous protests in France, was adopted by the Senate, according to Agence France-Presse.
The report says that 195 deputies voted in favor of the reform, 112 voted against.
The seventh nationwide strike took place in France on Saturday. The total number of events in protest against the reform was about 230.
The pension reform was prepared by the French government and presented on 10 January. It provides for an increase in the retirement age and the abolition of certain special benefits for certain professions associated with hard work.
The plans of the French authorities are to start raising the retirement age by three months a year from September 1, 2023. The retirement age in France will reach the target of 64 years by 2030.
