Fragments of an S-300 shell were discovered 10 km from Tiraspol. Fragments of the rocket hit the territory of the village of Kitskany, reported RIA Novosti co-chairman of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) from the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR) Oleg Belyakov.
“On September 25 at 00:54, a fairly serious explosion was heard over the territory of Transnistria. This greatly agitated the population living in the area of the village of Kitskany. The rocket fragments fell on the territory of Transnistria in the security zone in the village of Kitskany along Yunosti Street,” Belyakov noted.
He clarified that law enforcement units, sappers and military observers of the joint peacekeeping forces are working at the scene. The area where the debris fell was cordoned off. The missile warhead hit the courtyard of a residential building; it lies in the garden, the co-chairman of the JCC added.
Belyakov also noted that a 1968 model projectile flew into the territory of the republic. Its combat element was removed from the scene.
