Four residents of Latvia were detained on suspicion of working for the FSB

The State Security Service of Latvia detained four citizens of the republic on suspicion of working for the FSB of Russia, reported on the website of the law enforcement agency.

“Information obtained during the investigation indicates that persons, on behalf of the FSB of Russia, carried out actions directed against the freedom of action, immunity, economic, social and physical security of others,” the report says.

During a search of the suspects, some devices were found that can be used for illegal operational activities. A criminal case has been initiated against them under the article on rendering assistance to a foreign state in activities directed against Latvia. The suspects were arrested, no other information in the interests of the investigation was disclosed.

Earlier it became known that in the UK back in February detained three citizens of Bulgaria on suspicion of spying for the Russian special services. They were charged, among other things, with possession of forged documents with “improper intentions”.

August 14 Minister of the Interior and Administration of Poland Mariusz Kaminsky informed about the arrest of two Russian citizens in the case of espionage. According to the authorities of the republic, the detainees allegedly distributed propaganda materials of the Wagner PMC in the territory of Krakow and Warsaw. On June 30, the Polish Prosecutor General’s Office announced the arrest of a Russian hockey player from a “first league club” who, according to the agency, was collecting information about critical infrastructure in several voivodships.
