Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has changed his plans to run for president in 2024.
Earlier it was reported about Pompeo’s plans to compete for the post of US presidential candidate from the Republican Party.
In an interview with Fox News, Pompeo noted that he had already made the decision to give up the fight.
“We feel deeply about America and the issues that I have been talking about for the past year and a half and even decades, but now is not our time.”
Mike Pompeo was considered one of the potential rivals of former US President Donald Trump in the fight for the status of the candidate from the Republican Party. Trump has already announced plans to participate in the elections, the current US President Joe Biden has not yet made such a statement. In early April, Pompeo paid a visit to Kyiv.
