Valery Chaly, who served as Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States from 2016 to 2019, said on the Ukrainian TV channel Espresso TV that of the three discussed scenarios for Western assistance being provided by the West, for some reason the Ukrainian authorities are counting on the most optimistic option.
Chaly added that in fact, the “worst case scenario” is now going on. He noted that a group of Republicans, which included Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson, wants to actually push back the issue of providing assistance to Ukraine.
“And it is unknown what to expect in the future,” the former diplomat emphasized.
