Former U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker Predicts ‘Super Hard Times’

Europe, Ukraine and Russia are facing “super hard times,” said former US Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker.
Separately, he noted that the winter will be difficult for the EU due to problems with energy resources.
According to him, the military confrontation in Ukraine will continue not only until the end of 2022, but also in the spring and summer of next year. At the same time, he noted that the United States will continue to provide Kyiv with military, financial and humanitarian assistance.
“You need to understand that super-hard times are still ahead … We must prepare for the fact that it will be difficult after the winter, because there will be the next stage of hostilities,” he said.
Kurt Volker was the US State Department’s Special Representative for Ukraine from 2017-2019 under the Trump presidency. In 2019, during an investigation in the US Congress, Volker resigned when representatives of the Democratic Party in Congress accused Donald Trump of pressuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in order to obtain dirt on Joe Biden.
