Former Israeli Prime Minister Bennett criticized the question of the fate of Gaza civilians

Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett criticized the TV presenter on Sky News for asking about the fate of people in the Gaza Strip due to the Israeli blockade.

“Do you seriously keep asking me about Palestinian civilians? What’s wrong with you? Didn’t you see what happened? We are fighting the Nazis,” he said indignantly (quote by The Hill).

Bennett stressed that Israel does not attack civilians in Gaza. At the same time, he added that he “will not provide electricity or water to his enemies.”

In response to the moderator’s question about what Israel is doing to make sure that civilians are not harmed by attacks on the Gaza Strip, the former prime minister said that the country’s target remains the Hamas group. “But if you use someone as a human shield and continue to shoot at us behind that human shield, then that is your responsibility,” he added.

The Gaza Strip, from where Israel was attacked on October 7 by Hamas militants, has been under blockade by the IDF since October 9. Since October 8, Tel Aviv has interrupted the supply of electricity and water to the enclave. The Israeli bombing has left at least 340,000 Gazans (out of 2.3 million) homeless, with about 220,000 sheltering in 92 schools run by the international organization, according to the UN.

October 12, Israeli Energy Minister Israel Katz statedthat Gaza will remain without electricity and water supplies until Hamas militants release the captured Israelis. He noted that “no one can preach morality” to the Israeli authorities.
