Former head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kherson region returned to the post of deputy head of the Kaliningrad region

The former head of the government of the Kherson region, Sergei Eliseev, was again appointed deputy governor of the Kaliningrad region. The decree signed by the head of the region Anton Alikhanov, published on the portal of legal information. It entered into force on 26 November.

“Introduce Sergey Vladimirovich Eliseev, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Kaliningrad Region – Chief of Staff of the Government of the Kaliningrad Region, to the Government of the Kaliningrad Region,” the document says.

November 25 in the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kherson region reportedthat Andrey Alekseenko took the post of chairman of the government of the region. Prior to that, he headed the Council of Ministers of the Kharkiv region.

The press service specified that Eliseev would return to the Kaliningrad region. Official became head of the Kherson government in early July.

During the special operation of Russia in Ukraine, they took control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. At the end of September, five-day referendums were held in these territories on the issue of joining subjects to Russia.

On September 30, the President of the Russian Federation and the heads of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions signed agreements on the regions joining Russia. On October 4, the Federation Council, following the State Duma, ratified all the treaties, and the next day, head of state Vladimir Putin signed federal laws on the admission of four new subjects to the Russian Federation.

However, on November 9, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu ordered the withdrawal of Russian troops from Kherson to the left bank of the Dnieper after Sergei Surovikin, commander of the Joint Group of Russian Forces, made a report on the situation in the special operation zone. On November 11, the Ministry of Defense announced the completion of the withdrawal of troops from the city, now it is under the control of Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian authorities have repeatedly stressed that the withdrawal of troops from Kherson does not change the status of the Kherson region. November 11, Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov declaredthat the region is a subject of the Russian Federation. “There can be no change here,” he said.
