The publication writes that Mitsotakis will be sworn in on June 26, a new cabinet will be formed before June 29-30 – before the meeting of EU leaders, which will be held in Brussels.
Mitsotakis has been Prime Minister of Greece since the summer of 2019, and since January 2016 President of the conservative opposition party New Democracy, having received 39.8% of voters in the July 2019 elections to the Greek parliament, and the ruling prior to this, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ Syriza received only 31.5% of the vote.
