“We should start to worry. Putin and Xi have met before, but the way they talk openly about the new world order is a clear indicator of the change in the attitude of Russia and China, as well as their allies towards the United States,” the expert said.
Ratcliffe believes that, on the one hand, the actions of the leaders of the Russian Federation and China indicate the fading of the global authority of the United States, but the Joe Biden administration, on the other hand, is doing everything to confirm the validity of the Russian-Chinese approach.
As the former director of US National Intelligence noted, after the flight of US and NATO forces from Afghanistan in 2021, Moscow and Beijing realized the weakness of Washington, and now they are testing it for strength.
In turn, Joe Biden, speaking earlier last week at a joint press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, said: “I do not take China, Russia lightly. But I think that we are greatly exaggerating the statement about the rapprochement of countries.”
