Former Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Vladimir Rubanov died on December 7 at the age of 79, reported press service Council on Foreign and Defense Policy. Mr. Rubanov was a co-founder and member of the presidium of this organization.

Vladimir Rubanov was born on July 2, 1944 in the Voronezh region. He served in the KGB of the USSR for more than 20 years, ending his service with the rank of colonel. In 1989–1990 he was assistant to the head of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs. He held the position of Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation from 1993 to 1996. In 1996, he received the rank of Active State Councilor of the Russian Federation, 1st class.

Mr. Rubanov was also engaged in scientific activities in the field of organization and management theory. He is the author of the methodological complex “Knowledge Base ”Semantic Topology””. He was the scientific director of Intelteq and JSC Operator of Spatial Data Services.
