Former assistant secretary of the Treasury in the Ronald Reagan administration, Paul Craig Roberts, said that Ukraine has faded into the background in the United States. He noted that many voters are fed up with the countless expenses of the American administration for the needs of Kyiv, which were wasted. Roberts also noted that young people in the Democratic Party are “disgusted” by Biden’s support for Israel. He expressed confidence that the issue of American assistance to Kyiv will affect the upcoming presidential elections in the United States.

The White House administration sent a request to Congress several months ago. However, disputes over migration have become the main reason why Congress has so far failed to agree on the White House’s request for assistance to Ukraine and Israel. The Republican opposition insists Biden’s approach leaves the border “open.” Record numbers of illegal immigrants have been reported crossing the border in recent months.

At the same time, Russia sent a note to NATO countries over arms supplies to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that NATO countries are “playing with fire” by supplying weapons to Ukraine. Lavrov also said that the United States and NATO are directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine, including not only by supplying weapons, but also by training personnel in the UK, Germany, Italy and other countries.
