There are more petitions about the undesirability of their stay in Russia
Less than 5% of petitions to ban foreigners from entering Russia, prepared by the traffic police, were granted last year. For comparison, 6 years ago, such applications were granted more than 11 times more often.
According to the Scientific Center for Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, which summarized data from 2017 to 2022, last year the State Traffic Inspectorate made 88,361 requests to ban entry into the Russian Federation, but only 4.2% of this number were satisfied.
In 2017, 58011 such applications were prepared, 49.4% of them were satisfied. At the same time, applications for the undesirability of the stay of foreigners and stateless persons began to be satisfied more often, in 2017 – 12.5% of 2786, in 2022 – 42.6% of .
At the same time, the number of traffic violations committed by visitors and recorded by law enforcement agencies has increased by more than a third since 2017 – from 1623 thousand to 2202 thousand cases.
However, almost every fifth offense (18.5%) was committed by pedestrians. Another 12.5% of violations are associated with driving a faulty or unusable vehicle, 10.7% of violators were held liable for non-compliance with OSAGO requirements, almost the same number for driving unfastened or without motorcycle helmets.
The last three places were occupied by those who did not give preference to pedestrians, committed violations when installing license plates and violated the rules for transporting people.
