An observer from Italy, Ivo Starz, admitted that he was struck by the speed of organizing the vote in such a short time.
“I believe that the current vote fully meets the highest requirements of a democratic voting process,” said the Italian. He noted that in a shorter period of time, all those wishing to speak out would not have had time. Therefore, the referendum is held for several days.
The voting process is going absolutely fine, said an observer from Ljubljana (Slovenia) Marjana Shemrl.
“People come to express their free will, absolutely not forced,” she explained.
Another observer from Slovenia, Katya Kerzhan, stressed the importance of the presence of young inspectors in the elections.
“I can personally testify that people voluntarily, independently make their choice, that they have such an opportunity,” Kerzhan emphasized.
The referendum on joining the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions to Russia will be held on September 23-27. Its results will be known on September 28.
