In the coming months, a shortage of some models of premium and middle-class smartphones, including the iPhone, may begin in Russia.
As they writeNews“, parallel imports were under threat due to sanctions from the United States, which banned the import of gadgets worth more than $300 into the Russian Federation. Because of this, foreign intermediaries began to refuse deliveries.
In particular, Middle Eastern companies refused to cooperate with Russian retailers, and we are talking about all gadgets that use American patents and technologies.
There are practically no others on the market, since Chinese and South Korean manufacturers use US developments.
Another interlocutor of the newspaper suggested that new refusals to cooperate are a matter of the near future. It is not yet clear how exactly the new US sanctions will be applied, but they already increase the risks, which makes cooperation unacceptable for a number of intermediaries.
Another market participant noted that it would be possible to circumvent the sanctions, but the supply chains would become even more complicated, which would affect prices.
