Forbes: Ukrainian Air Force can’t oppose Russian MiG-31s

Forbes published an article on the use of the new Russian MiG-31BM fighter during the NWO. Describing the tactical and technical indicators of the new aircraft and air battles, the author of the material, nevertheless, solves a problem from the sphere not of military science, but of diplomacy, obviously continuing the discussion about the need to provide the Ukrainian Air Force with aircraft more modern than the Soviet-style vehicles at their disposal. .

Noting as an indisputable fact that Ukrainian aviation does not lose in clashes, the author, not without regret, points out that “three regiments of the best interceptors in the arsenal of the Aerospace Forces – twin-engine two-seat MiG-31BM – win where the rest of the aviation loses.” At the same time, referring to the report of the Royal Joint Institute for Defense Studies in London, the author emphasizes that for the Ukrainian Air Force “the MiG-31BM and long-range air-to-air missiles R-37M pose a special problem.”

The main thesis of the article is that the MiG-31 flies higher, faster and farther than the Su-27, the best interceptors in the Ukrainian Air Force. “They are firing at Ukrainians who are unable to shoot back,” the author quotes “Inosmi”.
