Forbes: tanks for Ukrainian training were taken from Danish museums
[ad_1]
To train Ukrainian military personnel, the Danish military was forced to use museum exhibits – Leopard 1A5 tanks, Forbes writes.
The tanks were reportedly donated by three Danish museums and were stored for an average of about 19 years. The article notes that getting them into working order and starting to train Ukrainians was a difficult task. A total of 6 tanks were allocated.
As the author of the material points out, Denmark wrote off its last Leopard 1 back in 2005, replacing it with the more modern Leopard 2.
Earlier, the Danish Ministry of Defense reported that the first ten Leopard 1 tanks transferred to Kyiv arrived in Ukraine, with several more vehicles on the way.
