For dessert – Style

For dessert - Style

Kommersant Style is about fragrances that smell of nuts and ice cream.

Pistachio notes in perfumery are elegant, warm and refined at the same time, it seems that summer itself smells of pistachios. Experiments with this nut were first started by the New York perfume brand DS & Durga, which launched Pistachio Eau de Parfum in 2021. Perfumer – co-founder of the brand David Seth Moltz emphasized that there is no special story behind this fragrance, it is “about desserts and about pleasure.” Innovation was appreciated: the entire circulation was sold out in just a few hours.

Pistachios grow in Iran, Greece, Italy, Afghanistan, the culinary tradition of using them for food is more than 2.5 thousand years. In Persia, these nuts were considered a symbol of wealth, and in Israel, the pistachio tree was revered as sacred. Everything speaks for this nut, whose nutritional and tonic properties have been proven and, as if by analogy, are now moving into the world of perfumery. Like desserts like baklava or kulfi themselves, pistachio flavors are delicate, thoughtful, and graceful—not as overpoweringly sweet and cloying as other gourmand flavors—and are suitable for everyone.
