Flight tactical exercises of the Union State have started in Belarus, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic reported.
“Today, a joint tactical flight exercise of the aviation units of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, which are part of the aviation component of the regional grouping of troops (forces),” was launched.
The main goal of the exercises is “increasing operational compatibility in the joint performance of combat training tasks.” It is clarified that during the exercises, aerial reconnaissance, joint air patrolling along the border, air support for groupings of troops, tactical airborne assault, as well as the delivery of goods and the evacuation of the wounded will be worked out.
joint exercises last until February 1st. At this time, all military airfields and training grounds of Belarus will be involved. From the Russian side, the military formation of the aerospace forces takes part in them.
In the fall of 2021, the Presidents of Russia and Belarus, Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, signed the integration decree of the Union State, approved the military doctrine and the migration concept. Such cooperation between the two countries has been discussed since 1999. As a result, last year the presidents agreed on union programs aimed at convergence and harmonization in macroeconomic, monetary and industrial policy, and tax legislation.
