Russia has frozen the bank accounts of Finnish missions. This is stated in the comments of the Finnish Foreign Ministry, the newspaper Helsingin Sanomat reports.

We are talking about the accounts of the Finnish Embassy in Moscow and the Consulate General of the Republic in St. Petersburg. The Finnish Foreign Ministry confirmed to the publication that the assets are frozen and the country can no longer use them.

“The situation is serious, this issue is being investigated,” the Finnish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

At the end of March, Finnish authorities frozen bank accounts of the Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC) in Helsinki due to EU sanctions until further notice, Talouselämä wrote.

In April, the newspaper Helsingin Sanomat, referring to the debt collection informedthat the Finnish authorities also seized the land and building of the RCSC. In addition, seven apartments in Helsinki were arrested, three of which are located near the RCSC. According to the publication, the total area of ​​the arrested property is 3326 square meters. m.

In this regard, Russia sent a note to the Finnish Foreign Ministry with a request to clarify how the actions of bailiffs correlate with the norms of international law on the immunity of Russian state property, reported at the Russian Embassy in Finland.
