Finland will transit Russian nuclear fuel until sanctions are imposed on it
Finland will continue to transport nuclear fuel from Russia. The last transportation took place in December. This was announced by the representative of the press service of the Finnish Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority, Risto Isaksson.
According to him, nuclear fuel will still not be subject to sanctions, so we can expect that transit will continue until restrictive measures are introduced on it.
Isaksson noted that the last transit took place in December 2023, when all vehicle checkpoints on the Finnish-Russian border were closed to traffic. He did not specify how the transportation was carried out.
