Russian motorists who intended to return from Finland to the Russian Federation today through the Vaalimaa international checkpoint were stopped by Finnish border guards. How writes Fontanka, citing eyewitnesses, border guards and police blocked the passage with cars during the day and did not let anyone through.

One of the eyewitnesses said that he managed to talk with the border service officers, and they “told my ear that they wouldn’t let anyone in.”

“They are putting up fences at the border control building, several extra vehicles with reinforcements have arrived,” the Russian added.

It is also reported that one passenger bus of the Lux Express company was unable to cross the border.
