In Finland, the temporary arrest of the land and building of the Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC) was canceled due to the lack of grounds for this, informs Yle with reference to the head of the special execution department of bailiffs Aki Virtanen.

Earlier today it became known that the Russian Embassy in Finland sent a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic with a demand to clarify how the actions of bailiffs correlate with the norms of international law on the immunity of state property.

Helsingin Sanomat newspaper citing the debt collection office on April 18 reportedthat the Finnish authorities seized the land and building of the RCSC, as well as several apartments in Helsinki. It was specified that seven apartments were frozen, five of which have already been arrested. According to the newspaper, the apartments and the RCSC belong to Rossotrudnichestvo. The agency is associated with the Russian Foreign Ministry, against which sanctions have been imposed. In total, over 1000 sq. m. Property valuation has not yet been carried out.

As the newspaper wrote, the assets were temporarily frozen. During this period, Russia will not be able to dispose of property or pledge it. The asset freeze will last three weeks, during which law enforcement will have to figure out who owns the assets.

The RCSC was opened in Helsinki in 1977. After the collapse of the USSR, Russia began to dispose of the property of the center. The main goal of the center is to assist in the implementation of joint cultural, educational, humanitarian and scientific projects in Russia and Finland.
