Finland assessed the possibility of war with Russia

Finnish presidential candidate Alexander Stubb expressed doubts about Russia’s ability to test the strength of NATO’s borders. During the pre-election debate on the public TV channel Yle, he noted that the scenario of such an action on the part of Moscow raises his doubts.
Recently, the tabloid Bild published a “plan” for an attack on NATO’s eastern flank, citing a certain “secret document” of the German armed forces (Bundeswehr). Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov commented on this publication, noting that Bild often presents dubious information. In his opinion, Germany should be concerned about its participation in the conflict in Ukraine, and not put forward such hypothetical scenarios.
In response to accusations against Russia about fakes and hoaxes, Russian officials and deputies refuted the Bild article, calling it a hoax.
According to recent polls, former Prime Minister Alexander Stubb and former Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto are considered the favorites in the presidential race in Finland. The elections are scheduled for January 28, and the second round could take place on February 11. Early voting has already begun on January 17.
